After Care Advice from The Wellbeing Clinic West Bridgford Nottingham
After treatment it is a good idea to drink plenty of water as this helps to support the lymphatic system.
After some treatments it isn't unusual to feel hotter or colder as treatments can increase the circulation, so it may be a good idea to bring a warm jumper.
Try to relax to get the maximum benefits from your treatment.
Try to avoid drinking alcohol the same day as your treatment.
It is not unusual to feel tired after a treatment so try to plan your treatment on a day when you do not have a full schedule.
Hopi Ear candles: avoid swimming for 2-3 days after the treatment.
Aromatherapy: try to leave the oils on as long as possible, try not to bathe or shower until the following day.
Chiropractic: it is not unusual to feel a little sore for a day or two after treatment, you can ice pack the area evey 20 minutes until the discomfort eases.
Chiropractic/Sports Therapy: depending on your individual complaint, the therapist will advise you on some exercises and stretching to assist in your recovery and maximise the benefits from your treatment.
Hypnotherapy/ Counselling: Sometimes after these therapies you can feel emotional as you have been addressing the issues that have been causing you concern. You can be encouraged to know that this feeling is normal and they will subside quite quickly. Your therapist is here to help you move through these issues and will always offer you support and encouragement along the way.
Shiatsu: After the Shiatsu, it is common to experience responses that are a natural part of the healing process. These effects are a result of the Shiatsu taking effect and will pass within 1-3 days but on rare occasions they may last longer.
Examples of these are:
Headache
Muscle aches
Heightened emotions
Upset stomach
Lethargy
Cold/flu symptoms
Some people may not experience any of these symptoms and will often feel better straight away, whilst for others it could take a few hours or a day or two.
Complementary Health is an individual and personal treatment and therefore people can experience different feelings and symptoms. If you are in any way worried about anything you may be experiencing do not hesitate to call us. Should your symptoms continue please do not hesitate to contact your health care provider as your symptoms may not be connected to the treatment you have received.
