Wellbeing at Work (Health and Wellbeing in the work place)
A large part of the Wellbeing Clinic work is helping business and organisations overcome stress in the workplace. At the Wellbeing Clinic we work with many organisations who offer services to their employees to help them manage their stress more effectively.
These range from:
The overall aim of our services is to enable employers to help their employees deal with whatever is causing their stress symptoms. We can help them to identify the triggers that cause stress and help them to develop better coping mechanisms. All the services we provide are designed to help the individual gain a deeper understanding of what stress is and how it is effecting them in their lives.
Stress can come from many areas such as: a dispute with a colleague about new working arrangements, overwork and not being able to express the concerns in an appropriate way which could stem from poor self esteem,
Stress can affect an employees performance at work and often work is not where the area of stress is but could be more related to what is going on at home such as a change in family circumstances, a bereavment or illness.
In our experience an employer often wants to help their employee but is not sure how to do this or where their responsibility starts and ends.
Some common statements which employers often have before deciding to use a stress management service have been:
We don't have anyone off with stress
We want to do something but we don't have the budget
It's going to be expensive
We're a little reluctant to pay for something when we're not sure it will work
My business is not very big I cant' afford to pay for something like this

People who suffer with stress can often be people who take a more than average amount of days off work, or they can suffer with colds more frequently. They may have IBS or display emotional behaviours like short temperedness, forgetfulness, frustration or lack of enthusiasm to mention a few.
95% of the people we see at the Wellbeing Clinic continue to work whilst they confront their stress issues.
We work hard to keep people in the work place and function to the best of their ability.
