Sports massage is an effective treatment for a range of musculoskeletal problems, including sports injuries, muscle tension, inflammation and stiffness.

Of course, you don’t need to be a sports person to benefit from sports and remedial massage. Most of us carry a certain amount of muscular tension, pain, or stiffness, and both minor problems and injuries can be effectively helped. We often get muscle injuries from every day activities, such as gardening or working at the computer. Common ailments like headaches, neck and shoulder pain, and sciatica can all be addressed using sports and remedial massage.

Normal, healthy muscle is a soft, gel-like substance. When there is injury or postural misalignment, the muscles are not adequately lubricated. This leads to pain, stiffness and dysfunction, as the body attempts to compensate, often causing further pain.

At the Wellbeing Clinic, we are able to offer sports and remedial massage appointments every day from Monday to Saturday. Our three sports and remedial massage therapists Annice, Pete Sturgess, and Yuri Wendt are fully qualified and very experienced.

We’re delighted that British national artistic gymnasts, sisters Ellie and Becky Downie come to the clinic to see Yuri.
